Propagation of plants

The propagation of the plants is organised around 4 axis :

Annual plants culture for the school of botany

Each year in April, 800 taxons are sewed from the seeds harvested in this sector. The culture is made on banks with base heat in a culture greenhouse.

Perennial plants culture

It concerns herbaceous, ligneous plants or bulbs cultivated from the seeds we chose on the different index seminum of the botanical gardens we are corresponding with. This is our principal way of enriching our collections. Propagation by cuttings, wisps divisions or sewing perennial plants that are decaying in the different sectors allow us to assure the perenniality of the species we have in our collections.

Collection and stock

We keep some plants in stock for all the sectors of the garden. We also preserve a collection of bulbs, we present them in the floral greenhouse, following the flowerings.

The "tuf" rock-garden

This rock-garden allows cultivating and experiments for saxicolous plants before their implantation in the alpine garden.
