Medieval garden

Located in the open-air garden, this bed is a part of a discovery route. This project of Catherine Dupisson, professor at The College du Tonkin in Villeurbanne and realised by the Lyon Botanical Garden, is based on an illumination and represents what was a garden in the Middle Age.

This garden is divided in 4 parts:

  • The open space
  • The enclosed garden or "Emily’s garden"
  • The flower garden
  • The simples’ garden or the kitchen-garden

Each part has an explicative panel presenting summarily the structures and the plants that represents the best this age.
